Your Ultimate House Cleaning Checklist
Here’s a helpful house cleaning list with designated cleaning tasks to follow depending on how much time you have before your guests arrive.
Daily cleaning – Declutter, clean dishes, and countertops, clear bins, make beds, and clean all sinks.
Weekly cleaning – Clean all floors, vacuum, wipe down mirrors, clean bedding, dust appliances and furniture, and wipe down your microwave.
Monthly cleaning – Dust light fixtures, ceilings, and windowsills, vacuum, do laundry and clean your dishwasher.
Quarterly cleaning – Clean the fridge, wipe down furniture, descale all appliances, and clean all shower curtain liners.
Yearly cleaning – Deep clean your rugs and upholstery, clean the chimney area, and deep clean curtains.
Here’s a room-by-room cleaning house for guests list to help you know which areas to cover.
1. Kitchen cleaning checklist
Cabinets – Using a microfiber cloth, soap and water, clean your cabinets from top to bottom, ensuring you don’t miss any fingerprints or grime.
Stove – Start by taking out the burners. Then using a soapy sponge, gently scrub the surfaces. Rinse the area, then use a microfiber cloth to eliminate the water spots.
Countertops – Take your surface cleaner and sponge to clean all countertops. We recommend using club soda for areas that no longer have their luster.
Microwave – Mix ½ cup of vinegar and two cups of water and heat it until it boils. Then take out the turntable and wash it. As for the interior, take a damp sponge and wipe off any grease.
Sink – Sprinkle baking soda all over the sink. Use a damp sponge to scrub it before rinsing the sink with hot water. Use a microfiber cloth to dry out the faucet.
Floor – A helpful cleaning tip is to look up the ideal cleaners and tools for your kitchen floor type.
2. Bathroom deep cleaning checklist
Bathtub – Using the appropriate cleaner, gently scrub the tub with a wet sponge. Rinse using hot water and dry the tub to prevent mildew.
Mirror – Spray the glass cleaner onto your mirror and wipe it down using a microfiber cloth.
Sink – Scrub the area paying attention to the sides to remove any product residues like hair products or toothpaste. When done, rinse the sink with hot water.
Toilet – Spray the toilet cleaner and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, scrub the toilet bowl, wipe down the seat and lid on both areas and flush the toilet to rinse the cleaner.
Floor – Scrub the entire area, paying particular attention to the area behind the toilet bowl, then rinse using a clean mop
Storage areas – Wipe down the cabinets and wastebaskets.
